The implant denture
(Part 1)
What is an implant denture or fixed denture?
While a common removable denture stays in place by natural suction (like a suction cup), a fixed denture has implant anchors in the jawbone.
The denture is horseshoe shaped and locks on the implants. The retainers can be seen from the bottom, but not visible when attached.
The implants end in a ball (or bar) to which the denture locks onto.
What are the advantages?
Implant dentures are leaner and thinner compared to common dentures. An implant denture is horseshoe shaped and has no palate which makes it feel more natural and lighter. While a common denture sits on the gum an implant denture sits on the implants which eliminates the feel of false teeth. The implant anchors secure the denture which can not move around or come unstable. Learn more about implant denture>
Who can have implants to secure dentures?
Implants sit in the jawbone, therefore the quantity of bone mass is one crucial aspect of the treatment. Fortunately in 98% of the cases implants are successfully fitted thanks to the improved treatment routine SODC oral surgeons designed for dental tourists. Get your free quote for implant denture>
