What dental treatments worth travelling for? (Part 1)

Having treatment outside the UK or Ireland is usually a cost saving alternative to local dental care. There are many treatments that have a significantly lower price, but not all.

What dental treatments worth travelling for?

(Part 1)

How much can you save on dental costs in Hungary?
In general we can tell that all treatment costs are 50-70% lower in Hungary compared to the UK average. Realistically of course it would not work out traveling 2000km for a filling.

If you are planning a holiday it worth considering having your teeth done at the same time. You can just pop in for fillings or other restorative treatments that requires a couple of days stay. This should not interfere with your holiday plans as none of the treatments require more than 1-2 hours spent at the dentist.

How much is travel and hotel for a visit:
Travel and hotel cost is about 100-200GBP / 150-250EUR depending on where you fly from and how long you stay in Hungary for your treatment. From this aspect there are two types of treatments, one that can be completed in one go, and others that require more than one visit to Hungary. Get your travel package calculated>

Treatments that can be completed in one go:
Composite fillings or any other composite restoration (1 session)
Porcelain crowns, bridges, veneers, inlay, onlay (2-3 sessions in 5 weekdays)
Tooth whitening (1-2 sessions)
Full or partial denture ((2-3 sessions in 4-5 weekdays)
Tooth extraction, and temporary restorations (1-2 sessions)

Treatment that usually require two separate visits:
Dental Implants (2 separate visits, with a 3-4 month delay)
Surgical treatments (2 separate visits, with a 3-4 month delay)
Root canal treatment (2 separate visits, with a couple of weeks delay
